A weekly newsletter to help high achievers (a.k.a over-achievers) reach their potential and make a difference.
Like butter scraped over too much bread…
That's how many of us feel these days—stretched thin and racing from one thing to the next. I know because I've been there. The constant push for more, better, faster left me feeling like I was sprinting on a treadmill that kept speeding up.
But here's what I've discovered: Nature never rushes.
Everything in nature has a rhythm. A cadence. A natural pace that can't be rushed or forced. Waves ebb and flow; seasons come and go at their own pace; crops are planted and harvested; birds migrate from one place to another and back again; and the sun rises and sets—all with rhythm and predictability.
We're part of nature too, though we often forget it. Our bodies and minds are designed to work in rhythms:
- Wake and sleep
- Work and rest
- Engage and reflect
- Push and recover
But somewhere along the way, we traded rhythm for rush. We started measuring our worth only by our output rather than our alignment. We began treating our bodies like machines that could run endlessly rather than living systems that need renewal.
The cost? Our health. Our relationships. Our peace of mind. Our sense of purpose.
Here's the truth: Sustainable success isn't about going faster—it's about finding your rhythm. It's about creating patterns that energize rather than exhaust you. Systems that support rather than strain you.
The world may be in a hurry, but you don't have to be.
Finding Your Rhythm
What if success wasn't about speed at all, but about finding the right rhythm for your life? Where in your life do you feel most out of rhythm?
For the next three days, identify one natural "anchor" in your day - maybe it's morning coffee, an afternoon walk, or an evening reflection. Protect this time like you would your most important meeting. Use it to find your rhythm again.
Until next time,
