Don't make the same mistake I did...

A weekly newsletter to help high achievers (a.k.a over-achievers) reach their potential and make a difference.

In reality, the very things that you feel might be holding you, down, may be holding you up.

Don’t make the same mistake I did. Like many visionaries and hard-driving leaders, I used to view limits as the enemy. Boundaries felt like prison walls rather than protection. Constraints seemed like shackles rather than support systems.

But here's what I've discovered: Every significant breakthrough in my life came within constraints, not without them.

Consider your own life rhythms. When did you last feel truly productive? Chances are it wasn't when you had unlimited time and resources. It was probably when you had a clear deadline, a specific goal, or limited bandwidth. These constraints didn't restrict your creativity—they focused it. They didn't limit your impact—they amplified it. As Craig Groeschel has shared, “Limitation is the breeding ground for innovation.”

Similar to the way a kite plummets to the ground when no one is holding onto the string, we tend to do the same without limits and constraints—whether they are self-imposed or imposed by an outside source, natural or man-made.

"Limitless" isn't true for anyone or anything except God.

"Limited" is true for you and me and what matters most in life.

If you want to make the most of life, start by embracing your constraints and limits.

In doing so, you will soar rather than plummet.

The Unvarnished Truth: Your Turn

What would happen if you stopped fighting your limits and started using them as launching pads? Which constraints in your life might actually be serving you? Where could establishing better boundaries increase your impact?

What's one limit you're fighting that you could start leveraging?

Choose one constraint that's been frustrating you. For the next 48 hours, flip the script. Instead of asking "How is this limiting me?", ask "How might this boundary actually be focusing my impact?" Write down three ways this limit could be leveraging your growth rather than limiting it.

Remember: The walls that seem to hold you back might be the very things holding you up.

Until next time,
